June 14, 2011: Greenphire's ClinCard adopted by Pfizer in innovative virtual clinical trial
Greenphire has continued to establish itself as the industry leader in providing technology-based clinical trial solutions. Most recently, Greenphire’s ClinCard System was adopted for use within Pfizer’s ground-breaking virtual clinical trial. This new “Participatory, Patient-Centered” (PPC) trial model requires the deployment of web-based technologies to support various functions for the study. Greenphire’s ClinCard emerged as the industry’s clear-cut leader to provide electronic payment to participating patients via its ClinCard System, enabling a seamless patient experience while also driving patient engagement and positive patient behavior.
This is the first randomized clinical trial under an IND whereby patients can participate entirely from home — without requiring close proximity to an investigator site. The PPC model will create new opportunities for patients to access clinical trials. As partners in research, patients will have access to all study results, and in particular to their own clinical data which will be made available via personal health records. Patients can then use this data to manage their own health and wellness, including sharing this data with their own physicians.
