January 12, 2012: Greenphire welcomes new Vice Presidents Rick Ward and Jerold Grupp
Greenphire’s total employee count more than doubled during the 2011 calendar year, culminating in the recent hiring of two new Vice Presidents to lead the company’s continued growth in 2012.
As Vice President of Sales, Rick Ward will extend Greenphire’s initiative to deliver Greenphire’s innovative clinical payment solutions directly to sponsors and CROs in the company’s fastest growing market segment. With over 20 years of experience both in direct sales and sales management roles, Rick has extensive expertise in the clinical trials industry, where he previously worked for various CRO and niche service organizations.
Rick graduated with a B.S. in Marketing from the Pennsylvania State University. He is currently pursuing an MBA in the Biotechnology & Healthcare Industries from the Penn State—Great Valley campus. Rick has also served on Penn State’s Smeal College of Business Alumni Society Board of Directors since 1999, is one of the founding members and former President of the Smeal Business Club of Philadelphia, and is an active member of and frequent presenter for the Drug Information Association (DIA).
Greenphire is also enthusiastic about the addition of Jerold Grupp as Vice President of Quality and Process Excellence. Jerry comes to Greenphire with more than 20 years of experience in implementing clinical trial technologies, including 16 years at Schering-Plough Research Institute and Johnson and Johnson Pharmaceutical Research and Development, and 5 years leading implementations teams at Medidata Solutions, ICON Central Laboratories, and Phlexglobal, Inc.
Jerry will be responsible for Greenphire's Quality Assurance activities, including administration of the Quality Management System, hosting client audits and working to further enhance Greenphire's existing reputation for quality, responsiveness, and client satisfaction.
