Improve the patient experience and increase patient retention

The ClinCard System delivers scheduled patient stipend payments, ad hoc reimbursements, and travel reimbursements in real time through a web-based portal, eliminating lengthy approval and administrative processes generally associated with patient compensation. Patients receive payments immediately on a MasterCard branded debit card, and can access their funds at an ATM, bank, online, or in-store. Direct electronic payments eliminate aggressive fees associated with traditional check-based payments, and reduce burdensome patient cash outlays for extensive travel. Patients cite instant and no-fee access to funds as a primary determinant of their overall satisfaction with the clinical trial experience, and studies show the ClinCard System has increased patient retention when implemented.

Drive protocol adherence

The ClinCard System's payment engine is integrated with a proprietary messaging application which automatically triggers study-specific subject messaging programs to patients via text, email, or automated voice messaging. Standard messaging includes appointment reminders, payment confirmations, balance reminders, appointment reminders, and compliance directions.

Reduce site and sponsor administration

The ClinCard System is designed specifically for the clinical trials environment, where check-based payments represent the industry status quo. When compared with multi-step, multi-approver, multi-department manual check payments, the ClinCard System's one-step, 30-second, web-based payment portal reduces administration associated with patient payments by an average of 90%.

Mitigate regulatory risk and centralize reporting

The ClinCard System incorporates an optional fully-blinded, multi-level, web-based approval tool with centralized reporting. This innovative, patent pending functionality enables sponsors to exercise full control over the release of patient payments and ensures that payments are made in compliance with IRB and Ethics Committee guidelines for each study. Site-level security functionality may be introduced to automatically ensure accurate payments without sponsor review.

Integrate with established clinical technology platforms

The ClinCard System can be integrated through Greenphire’s API with any other clinical computer system (CTMS, EDC, ePRO, IVRS) in order to further streamline operational processes. Greenphire has partnered with Bio-Optronics' Clinical Conductor CTMS to integrate a joint solution at over 20 sites, and with Almac Clinical Technologies to streamline the ClinCard System through Almac's innovative IXRS technology.
